Chiropractic Manipulation

Once objectively identified, spinal, pelvic and extremity malpositions (fixated joints) are treated with specific chiropractic adjustments (manipulations). Chiropractic adjustments are a safe, effective treatment to restore each joint to its appropriate anatomic position, enhance range of motion and release any adhesions to the surrounding ligaments causing the problem. We have found that if the joint mechanics are not corrected, soft tissue treatment or rehabilitation will not be as successful or will take far too long to accomplish the desired goals.

Myofacial Release

Myofascial release is a specialized soft tissue therapy that treats skeletal muscle immobility and resulting pain. We use a range of myofascial release techniques to re-establish proper motion between muscle and fascia while reducing fibrous adhesions. Myofascial techniques can be used passive, with the patient staying completely relaxed, or active, with the patient providing movement when necessary. The physician will use their hands to slowly stretch the fascia by applying pressure to the targeted area of the body relaxing contracted muscles, improving flexibility, blood flow and motion.

Corrective Exercises

We prescribe a series of specific movements for each patient designed to facilitate the healing process. These corrective exercises help to decrease pain, restore muscular balance and improve proprioception, core strength, flexibility, and stability to prevent future injuries. The exercise programs teach the patient how to prevent the pain from reoccurring so that they do not have to frequently return to treatment. Many of these exercises can be performed in the comfort of the patient’s home to improve the effectiveness of their chiropractic care plan.

Physiotherapy Modalities

Along with our other therapies, many different physiotherapy devices that we employ aide in the healing process. The following devices/tools are utilized: Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound Therapy, Shortwave Diathermy, Moist Heat Packs and Ice.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is primarily used to treat disc injuries in the neck and in the low back. This treatment option is very safe and utilizes FDA cleared equipment to apply distraction forces to spinal structures in a precise and graduated manner. Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is very effective at treating bulging discs, herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, degenerative disc disease and facet syndromes.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology Taping is used to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain, optimize performance, prevent injury and promote improved circulation and healing. Kinesiology Tape is applied along muscles, ligaments and tendons to provide support that helps to prevent injury and speed recovery.
