Dr. Ted DowerChiropractic Physician
Dr. Ted Dower grew up in central Kansas with a passion for athletics. He went to Sterling College to play basketball and soccer and earned a B.S. in Exercise Science. He then moved to Birmingham, AL, with his wife, Sarah, and worked in fitness for a while but in search of stability, ended up working in a sales and support role for an IT company for three and a half years. Though he had a bright future in that field, he always wondered how he could get back to working in something he was more passionate about, health and wellness. In the spring of 2019, his wife discovered the solution for him when she encouraged him to pursue his doctorate in chiropractic, and he ultimately made the decision to go and obtain that degree at Life University in Marietta, GA.
He would go on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Life University’s College of Chiropractic in September 2022. During his time at Life University, Ted found his niche in the Motion Palpation Institute and Sports Chiropractic clubs and spent time in leadership with both those organizations, constantly learning and helping train other students to carefully assess their patients, discover what treatment might be effective, and how to ultimately utilize a broad understanding of the human body to treat and manage musculoskeletal complaints conservatively.
On top of his national board exams for his degree, he has also sat for exams with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) to receive his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification and from Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR) to become a certified provider. He has also studied Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) to utilize the principles of developmental kinesiology to assess and treat his patients as well. Dr. Dower loves learning, and he hopes to use his understanding of how to help the body perform optimally to get people thriving such that their health never holds them back from being excellent at whatever they set their minds to.
In Dr. Dower's spare time, he loves serving in his church, spending time with his family, coaching his sons’ sports teams, and lifting weights.
He loves serving Hoover, Alabama, and is excited to continue to grow with ProHealth Hoover.
